  1. Your "my word" translates as, "are you insant?" ;-) Yes, it's rather overwhelmingly shocking, isn't it?

  2. "My word," says it all.

Nonetheless, a worthy endeavor. I love this challenge, but I know I cannot do this right now. One year I want to do this. So I'll be waiting to see what you add for some of these countries.

    1. I liked the openness of the challenge so I'm not going to stress myself out trying to complete it. At least, I don't think so ... ha ha! ;-)

    2. And it has no time limit; so it is long term. I think it's great. No pressure. Maybe next year I'll start something like this.

  3. My hat's off to you! I may be able to connect my own self-study program to this, I am not sure: last year I read a fair bit of middle-east history and culture, and this year I am focusing on Asia. I thought next year I might try the 'global south', doing so many reads in South America and so many in Africa. I will have to do some thinking, because this is the sort of long-term project with appeal to an endlessly curious sort of fellow like myself!

Thank you for introducing the idea.

    1. I would never have thought of it if it wasn't for Jean! :-) I'll keep an eye out for your project. It's nice to know that I'll have your blog as a resource for good books. I have a fear of reading something I won't like, then feeling like it's a waste of time, but I trust your reviews so now I feel much better. :-)
